A new start-up campaign for an Educate Together secondary school has kicked off. (This is for a new school in addition to the new Dublin South City school opening in Sandymount in 2018.) This campaign will be targeting the Harolds Cross Greyhound Stadium and local catchment area.
A preliminary meeting of a group of parents from five local ET primary schools will be taking place on Wednesday 22nd November at 7.30 pm at CanalWay ETNS. Further updates on this campaign and an action plan will be announced in the coming weeks. Please contact Deirdre Brennan at if you wish get be involved.

Volunteers and Raffle Prizes Needed for Winter Fair

We are currently organizing the Winter Fair. Please contact us if you have any ideas, skills or services you would like to contribute. (Perhaps you are an amazing baker, storyteller, photographer, masseur, or are a facepaint wizard. Or maybe you're great at decorating or cleaning. We can put your talents to good use!)
We also need raffle prizes for kids and grownups. If you have something to offer, please contact with the subject line Winter Fair.

After School Activities

The Parents Association is responsible for organizing and running the After School Activities programme. Activities run from Monday to Friday and all sessions begin at 14:10, directly after older classes finish school. Available activities include options for physical exertion (Athletics, Active Club and Capoeira), cerebral challenges (Science and Chess), artistic endeavours (guitar, ukulele, Drama and Art), and then there is Lego, for a gold old fashioned play session. You can find details about the full list of activities and timetable for the After School Activities programe here.

Volunteers Needed

In order to run the After School Activities programme, we rely on parent volunteers who are able to help out from 14:00 - 15:00, during the week. If this is something you can do, please contact us at and we will send you the information for the garda vetting procedure.

About The Parents Association

The Parents Association at Canal Way Educate Together National School was formally established in September 2014. The main aim of the Association is to give a voice to students' parents within the School community and to help us actively participate in the development and running of the school. Such activities typically include:
  • Fundraising to help finance school improvement projects and purchase equipment
  • Organizing social events for students and parents to help us all get to know one another better and to develop the school community
  • Running the After School Activity programme, providing additional learning and development opportunities for students
All parents or guardians of children attending Canal Way Educate Together National School are automatically included as members of the Parents Association.
